01Our approach
AidByFaith is built to help you find aid with as little friction as possible. You do not need an account to search or view organizations, and we use no advertising trackers of any kind.
02Information we collect
You can browse and search without giving us anything. Two forms on the site do collect information, and only what you type into them: the contact form takes your name, email address and message, and the prayer request form takes your message plus, if you choose to give them, your name and email. The prayer request form has a Submit anonymously option, which removes the name and email fields so they are never sent. Neither form stores anything in our database.
03How we use information
We use anything you send us solely to respond to you and to improve the directory. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers named below, who handle it on our behalf.
04Your IP address
When you submit either form, we read your IP address and hold it in the server's memory for up to one hour. It is used only to stop one sender flooding the form, it is never written to a database or a log file, and it is discarded whenever the site restarts. Staff signing in to the admin area are rate limited the same way, for fifteen minutes.
05What we record about searches
Searches are not tied to you and we do not keep a record of who searched for what. We do count how often a ZIP code is searched that we have no listings for yet, so we know where to expand next. That count is a ZIP code, a number and a date, with nothing that identifies the person who searched.
06How we count visits
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without setting a cookie and without anything that identifies you. It records the page address, the site you came from if there was one, and the country. It cannot follow you between visits or between sites, because it stores no identifier to follow you with. We chose it over Google Analytics for exactly that reason.
07Services we rely on
This site is delivered through Cloudflare, so every request passes through them before it reaches us, and they see your IP address and the address you asked for. Cloudflare also counts page views, as described above. Form submissions are delivered by email through Microsoft, so anything you send passes through their systems. Organization pages that have an address embed a map from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and the address of the page you are on when that map loads. The coverage map on Where We've Reached draws its background tiles from OpenStreetMap, a nonprofit project, which sees your IP address like any image host but is never told which organization you look at, because that map only ever loads on the coverage page. Voice search, if you use it, is transcribed by your browser's own speech service, which on Chrome and Edge means the audio is sent to Google. Organization listings shown in a language other than English are translated by Microsoft Azure Translator, which receives the listing's own text; that happens on our server when a listing is published, never in your browser and never with anything about you. Our fonts are served from this site and not from Google.
08Cookies
We set no cookies on visitors, and neither does the analytics above. Choosing a language changes the page address (Spanish pages begin with /es) rather than storing anything on your device. The only cookie this site itself sets is a sign-in session for staff using the admin area, which lasts eight hours. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, may set its own short-lived security cookies to tell real visitors from automated traffic; those are Cloudflare's, they carry no information about you, and they are not used to track anybody. We use no advertising cookies of any kind.

Organizations listed here operate independently. When you contact them or visit their websites, their own privacy practices apply, not ours.
